Be prepared to explain your expectations not only in terms of appearance, but also your functional complaints and past transactions, if any.
Describe your expectations clearly without treating the outcome as guaranteed
When preparing for the consultation, briefly note the features you would like to change and why. If you have breathing difficulties, a history of trauma or previous surgery, or take regular medication, share these under headings separate from your aesthetic expectations.
Reference images can support communication, but they do not mean that a result seen in another person can be reproduced in the same way. The physician should assess feasible options based on your anatomy and medical history.
Write down your questions for the physician in advance
The consultation should clearly address which technique is being considered and why, potential risks, alternatives, variability in recovery and the possibility of revision. Asking for further explanation whenever an answer is unclear is a natural part of making an informed decision.
- ✓What is the rationale for the approach being considered for me?
- ✓What are the potential risks and alternatives?
- ✓What is the follow-up schedule and how do I make contact in an emergency?
- ✓How will fitness to fly and return to daily activities be assessed?
Give yourself time to decide
After the consultation, ask for a written summary of the scope, fees, follow-up and any possible additional needs. You do not have to make a payment or travel decision before all your questions have been answered.
Dretty can coordinate consultation, documentation and travel arrangements; medical suitability, the proposed method and expectations about outcomes must be clarified exclusively with the relevant physician.
